We Spent 14 Hours In The Big City
And It Was EPIC!

by Kevin Watson

We leave our campground in New Jersey very, very early in the morning to head into New York City! With over 9+ million people living in NYC, we expect to be bothered by all of the traffic and crowds. Luckily, we met someone at our campground that gave us a lay of the land, which should make navigating the big apple easier!

We start by parking in Jersey City and taking a water taxi into NYC. Our first stop is the 9/11 Memorial, where we are moved by just how many lost their lives there in 2001. Next, we venture to the Charging Bull for a mandatory tourist picture, then decide we’ve walked a lot already and resort to taking a bus for the remainder of the day.

We see so much of New York City, including the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, Empire State Building and more! We even get to try a famous NYC hotdog from a street vendor on Times Square!

We head back to One World Trade Center to see the city from the One World Observatory at the top of the building, which was a highlight of our trip! We finished up our 14-hour day with dinner at Gigimo for some authentic Italian food, before catching the water taxi back to our truck in Jersey City!
