We Did It All Wrong!

by Kevin Watson

This is the first day of many from our adventures in the "Oldest City in America," St. Augustine! There is so much history here, that you can plan as little or as much as you like, but either way, you’ll leave happy!

We ventured into the Old Town area of St. Augustine to walk around to get a feel for the city.  This helped us decide what all we would like to see and do for the week.  We started at the Old Gate and worked our way down St. George Street, through all the shops and restaurants, that line the streets.

We took a tour of The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, which is America's first Parish, and then made our way to the Plaza de la Constitucion to see the Constitutional Monument. We took a long walk down Aviles Street to see the Gonzalez-Alvarez House, then ended our day with ice cream and a trip to one of Kevin’s favorite places, Pepper Palace!

After a few hours and a lot of walking, there was still so much to see!  We decided the day we came into Old Town, we would definitely take the trolley tour!
