On our last night at the RV Park in Many, Louisiana, we end up somewhere we never wanted to be! While walking over to have dinner at Alecia’s parent’s RV, Alecia trips and hurts both ankles, very badly. We decide that a trip to the emergency room is needed to determine the damage.
After multiple x-rays, it is confirmed that Alecia’s left ankle is broken in one, if not two places, and her right foot is either severely sprained or fractured, as well. We were supposed to leave for Tennessee the next day, but decide we should head back to our home base to get an appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon to decide what the next course of action should be. We leave the RV parked in Louisiana, while we make the drive back to Alecia’s parents, since we don’t know if we will be there for an extended amount of time or not.
After seeing the surgeon, it is determined that surgery will be required and that both the tibia and fibula bones are broken. This means our three-month trip will need to be postponed or cancelled, since we will be at our home base a minimum of three months, while Alecia recovers.
