750 Mile Detour For Repairs & Upgrades!

by Kevin Watson

Today, we start our Path to Maine! Our 40 states in 40 years, or 40-in-40 trip starts NOW! Since we’ve already visited 20 states with our RV, we have 20 left to visit on this trip! Before we get started, we have to take a 750-mile detour…for repairs!

We recently damaged the floor on our main slide, when we accidentally stepped on it, when the slide was retracted. This caused our wall and floor to separate and also caused damage to both slide ski’s on that slide. We have a reputable RV technician that we’ve used in the past, that we are going to go see, to help make the repair.

Before we make the 750-mile trek, we give a tour of Summit Vacation and RV Resort in New Braunfels, Texas! We’ve had such a great time at this resort, but it’s time to start our three-day journey to Memphis, TN. Our first travel day is nearly eight-hours long, as we get stuck in traffic, in Austin, Texas. We have trouble with our TSD Logistics card at Pilot Flying J’s, not once, but twice, along our journey. We overnight at Antique Capital RV Park in Gladewater, Texas, and head out the next day to start our travel day to Downtown Riverside RV Park in Little Rock, Arkansas, where we will overnight.

When we get to Little Rock, the rain starts and we continue to see rain until we reach our destination in Southhaven, Mississippi. We set up at the Eazy Dayz RV Park, where the technician will come to make the repairs to our slide. We also give an update on our Blu Technology braided water hoses and QD’s that we have been using for the past few weeks.
